Toddler Cowboy Boots

!: Toddler Cowboy Boots

Toddler cowboy boots are considered a better footwear option for all toddlers or pre walkers of age 14 months and below. They look great on children. The boots are available in four sizes. They are small, medium, large, and extra large. The sizes range from four to eight in numbers. As the growth of toddlers differ at times, it is difficult to recommend a particular sized boot for toddlers. For toddlers, it is better to select a slightly bigger boot than the actual leg size. These bigger boots can be used along with socks to fit toddler?s leg.

Toddler cowboy boots are available in all popular brands like Dingo, Durango, Old West, and Dan Post. They come in both western and roper styles. There are traditional and modern boots. As traditional suede cowboy boots most often comes without traction, it is not ideal for most toddlers. Some of the features in popular toddler cowboy boots are toe rand, Concho harness strap, and PVC outsole.

Toddler cowboy boots may have snake, lizard, and ostrich print foot with black or colored shafts. They vary in patterns also. Some are typical toddler patterns while some others have similarities with adult boots. The boots may have fleece linings for softness. There are knitted and hand crocheted boots also. There can be zip-ups in boots for easy wearing. Boots come with frills around ankles. Such boots look great and attractive for toddlers. Toddler boots are available in ordinary and attractive colors including white, baby pink, peanut brittle, tan, red, navy blue, brown, and black.

Toddler cowboy boots are better, compared to the tall English boots. The boots provide protection to toddler?s feet and ankles. They are soft, light, and comfortable for little ones. Unlike English boots, it is easier making toddlers wear cowboy boots. Moreover, cowboy boots are less expensive than English boots.

Short Story - Fate

!: Short Story - Fate

We were walking along the road, talking about the law and order situation in the city, especially about the safety of elderly people.

I saw some one lying in the gutter. I wanted to see whether he is alive, but my friend held me back, saying it may be a Case of murder even. Why attract the attention of the police?

I heard some sound, as if coming from the man. I came nearer and found that he was trying to show something. He looked like a perfect gentleman in white shirt and pants.

Yes, it was a packet in his pocket. I opened it. It looked like sugar.

My friend rushed towards us, took the packet and emptied it into the old man's mouth. In a few seconds, he sat up. We helped him to walk and presently, he called a rickshaw and got into it, thanking us profusely.

We walked along side the rickshaw as we wanted to make sure that he reached home safely. My friend explained to me that it was a simple Case of diabetes. Sometimes low sugar can even kill him. He was lucky we saw him. He was wearing a costly watch and had a gold chain.

His wife, so we assumed, came out to receive him, abusing the poor man: "didn't I tell you not to go alone? One day you will die."

The man invited us to come in, but we declined, saying we will come some other time.

One day, car stopped suddenly, as it passed by me, in the traffic chaos of the road. The old man, whom we had rescued, put his head out through the window and asked me to get in. As I was about to get into the front seat, he said: sit by my side.

When I was seated, he continued:" that day you two ran away. I could not even thank you properly. Tell me who are you? What are you doing?"

"I came to work, as we are very poor people. My friend brought me. I stay in my room. That day we were returning home."

"What do you do?"

"I sell books and magazines."

"Who are at home?"

"Mother and a sister. Two sisters are married."

"Father?"

"He is no more."

We had reached his house which was very big.

His wife came out. A fat, pot bellied woman, with an evil look.

We went in and I was offered a chair. Seeing my hesitation, he said: "you saved my life. You are like God to me. Tell me, can you help me?"

"Oh! Yes. I am ready. How can I help you?"

"See, I am alone. I have to go here and there. In the evening, I go for a walk. You have to be with me; that is all".

"OK."

"I will give you six thousand every month."

I went to my friend and told him every thing.

With the advance salary he gave me, I went to our village home. My mother could not believe me.

I said:" he wants my sister to assist in the kitchen."

After some reflection, she said:" then you take her with you."

There was a festive mood at home. Mother made her favourite fish curry. Neighbours came to participate in the rejoicings.

Before I got this new work, I used to sell pornographic CDs and books to young men and women. I knew it was illegal, but I got good response and easy money. Many became very friendly with me. One girl with curly hair, was always hitting and kicking me, because I refused to do her bidding, which somehow I didn't like. She is very fair and I do like her.

One day she waylaid me by stopping her car just in front of me. She got out of the car and asked in an angry tone:" where are you these days? Don't you sell CDs?"

Both of us entered the back seat and she did whatever she wanted. At last, when exhausted, she said:" they have fixed my marriage. Till then, I want you here, every day."

Then she dropped me at my friend's room.

My friend began asking questions about my sister's stay in the old man's house. "Where does she sleep? Does the old man make advances towards her?"

I told him she seems to be happy there. She will always bring something delicious to eat.

I showed him the revolver, with proper license, given to me by the old man. It was loaded and I practiced shooting at a stone in a lonely place. In a few days I learned to shoot, with accurate aim. I shot a crow from a distance of fifty metres.

One day, I was escorting the old man to the bank. After our work was over, we returned to our car and the driver started the engine. I did not notice anything unusual. When we reached a lonely place, two armed men suddenly came in front of the car, forcing the driver to stop the vehicle. Apprehending danger to my boss, I shot one and injured the other. The latter was brought to a hospital and the police informed.

I explained every detail, as I thought it my duty to serve the old man.

We returned home.

That night, the police came and took me away. They treated me well, but told me to sign a document, saying, if I signed it, they would try to save my life; otherwise I would be hanged, as there was a perfect case against me. I signed it.

There were mosquitoes. The atmosphere was gloomy. Some how, I was not unduly disturbed. If they hang me, my boss will take care of my sister, I knew.

Next day, my boss came with a lawyer. They tried to get me bail, but their efforts failed.

In the evening, my friend, the curly haired blond, came with another lawyer. She was very much upset and worried. They did not allow her to come very near to me.

A few days passed. Then she, along with the lawyer, met the magistrate and showed him some documents and video, to prove that we were married, and attended the reception at her town, on that fateful night!

As prima facie, it was genuine, the magistrate ordered my release on bail.

Rio De Janeiro Apartments - A Guide to Renting and Buying

!: Rio De Janeiro Apartments - A Guide to Renting and Buying

The number of tourists that come to Rio de Janeiro is steadily growing, the market for apartment rental has accordingly grown as well. Nowadays there are dozens of rental agencies and internet ads offering furnished apartment´for short term lease. Many times they turn out to be a far better deal than staying in a hotel or even a hostel, particularly if you are a few people that will stay for a week or more. How should you go about this to be sure you get a good deal?

Area
First of all it´s very important to remember that the prices in between areas differ a lot, it can even differ significantly between two streets. I have put some common central areas into price brackets so you can get an idea:

More Exclusive: Anything fronting the sea either in Copacabana, Ipanema or Flamengo. The whole neighbourhood of Leblon, Ipanema from the street Vinicius de Moraes until Jardim de Alah. The whole neighbourhood called Lagóa.

Exclusive: Ipanema except in front of the shantytowns (don´t forget to ask!), Copacabana Posto 6, Arpoador, some parts of Flamengo. Laranjeiras and Jardim Botânico.

Mid range: Copacabana all areas accept facing shantytowns and everything around the street Princesa Isabel, Botafogo and Santa Teresa (can be very expensive as well).

Cheap: Catete, Gloria, Humaita.

Budget: Lapa

Standard
Another factor is of course standard. If you´re quering over internet you should ask to see photos. The cheapest options are small studio apartments with simple cooking facilities. The more exclusive ones have porches with swimming pools and gyms in the building. Noise is a problem in Rio so an apartment on the 1st floor can be a lot cheaper than one on the 10th.

Period
This is the most important factor. Over New Years and Carnival prices can go up more than 5 times. There is no real way to avoid this. The cheapest months are April, May, June, October and November.

Renting
Now that you know all this you can start looking. If you´re in Rio for a longer period I recommend that you come here first so you actually can visit the apartment before renting, most likely the deal you get will be better. Exception is for high season when you probably should arrange something well ahead to make sure you actually get somewhere to stay. The best place to look is probably in the newspaper O Globo but there are many agencies that offer it, at higher prices of course. If you´re only here for a week or so you should shop around on the internet and compare the different deals the agencies offer you and go for the best one. Deposit is normal.

Buying Real Estate
Many tourists from Europe and North America come to Rio and fall in love with the city. Since the prices for Real Estate here are reasonable compared to back home many people buy apartments. But how can you know what´s a good deal? What are the rules? How should you go about this in the best way?

Regarding area and standard it´s the same as above. The first thing you need is a lawyer you can trust. There is a fair deal of paperwork you have to go through and missing something may turn out to be really expensive. The second thing to do is to start looking. You have the classified ads in the newspaper O Globo and there are Real Estate Agents all over the place. Compare and study hard, you need patience and a clear head. Remember that some really nice apartments have a low value because of the proximity to a shantytown.

When you finally have found something that you are interested in it´s time for your lawyer to go to work. He needs to check all the paperwork, help you get a so called CPF number (social security number). The actual transfer of the money has to go through Banco do Brasil so that it´s brought legally into the country. There are many people that sell apartments that want to make the deal half "under the table" so they can avoid paying certain fees and taxes, don´t at any terms accept that!

Of course now you wonder how to find that trustworthy lawyer. Well the best way is to get a recommendation from someone you trust. If you have the slightest doubt, find another one.

Good Luck!

Austin's New Urban Village - The Old Airport Revitalization

!: Austin's New Urban Village - The Old Airport Revitalization

An area of Austin which is currently undergoing revitalization is the old Mueller Airport area, near the intersection of Manor Road and Airport Boulevard in East Central Austin. This location offers residents and visitors alike many interesting opportunities. Housing is very affordable in the area, including single family homes and duplexes, and also numerous nice but inexpensive apartment complexes. Since this area is just a few miles from the University of Texas campus, it is ideal for students and faculty members, as well as downtown area employees who are looking for a neighborhood which is affordable yet extremely close to downtown business and entertainment districts and the college area. Manor Road itself is home to many fine restaurants, including El Chile, and El Gringo, both wonderful restaurants specializing in Mexican cuisine, and Hoover's , a southern-style restaurant specializing in BBQ and various other regional Texas specialties. The Eastside Café, a popular restaurant which specializes in natural and fresh from the garden choices, is situated on Manor Road just across the interstate and is very convenient for U.T. students, faculty, and visitors to the campus area. The Eastside Café has a reputation for very fresh seafood as well as tempting steaks and other entrees. All of these restaurants have been patronized by well known political visitors recently, including Bill Clinton's visit to Hoover's while campaigning in Austin with his wife Hillary and family.

The University of Texas sports facilities are also very close to the east-central vicinity of Austin, especially Dish Faulk field, for Longhorn baseball fans, and Royal Memorial Stadium, for Longhorn football fans. Both of these sports venues are near the intersection of Interstate 35 and East Martin Luther King Blvd, which runs somewhat parallel to Manor Road, east of Interstate 35. The Erwin Center is also just a stone's throw away, at Red River and Martin Luther King, just west of the interstate.

Prior to closing in 1999, Mueller Airport was the oldest municipal airport in Texas, and it originally opened to the public in 1930. After the new Bergstrom International Airport was established south of Austin at the site of the old Bergstrom Air Force Base, Mueller Field closed to air traffic, and is presently being redeveloped as a center for the arts, affordable homes, and many other exciting businesses and attractions. The old airport site encompasses 711 acres of space, and is designated for "mixed use" development now, including many movie-making related facilities. The site is home to the new Austin Studios film-making complex, which includes soundstages, sets, and various other commercial ventures associated with Austin's burgeoning motion picture, theater and arts communities. Many of the old airport hangars have been converted to use as soundstages for these endeavors, and the area is ideal for this type of activity, since it is such a large area, and so conveniently located, but is still very quiet and has a rural feel to it since it has not been developed or inhabited much in the past, especially since the airport relocated.

The site will eventually be home to 10,000 residents and has been referred to as an "urban village", with its proximity to the major urban areas yet its small town flavor. The site will eventually include schools, shops, homes, apartment complexes, entertainment and various other businesses and services. In addition to these exciting, revenue-generating ventures, the area is projected to include 140 acres of public open spaces and 13 acres of hike and bike trails, making the neighborhood very pedestrian-friendly as well as offering immediate access to Austin's fine mass transit system, the Cap Metro bus routes.

Right across Manor Road from the old airport entrance is another attraction for sports fans, the Morris Williams Golf Course, which is an eighteen-hole public golf course, with green fees of twenty dollars or less on a year-round basis. This area is also very accessible to out of town visitors, since both Manor Road and Martin Luther King eventually intersect with U.S. Highway 183 when travelling east or northeast. U.S. 183 serves the Austin metro area as a loop around the eastern perimeter of the city, where it is referred to as Ed Bluestein Blvd. It also intersects with Highway 290 East and Highway 71 East, as well as Interstate 35, so it is very convenient to get in and out of the east-central community around the old Mueller Airport.

This area is sure to become a vital part of Austin in the very near future, and offers the finest attractions and amenities now for every segment of the population, young and old alike!
